Annie

My beloved Annie was with me only 6 short years. She was a shelter cat and I think she had been abandoned by a previous owner.

She attached herself to me like glue. It seemed as if she could never get close enough. I imagine she was afraid of being abandoned again. She was diagnosed with leukemia although thank God she did not have the virus which my other guys would have been exposed to.

I only had 3 weeks to adjust to the idea that I was going to lose her and I think I was still in denial the morning she refused her breakfast and was in obvious discomfort. I tried to tell myself it was the hot weather but when I lay down on the floor with her I knew it was time to prevent her suffering.

I stayed with her as the doctor administered the injection and I hope she knew I was with her till the end. She was only 8 years old and her time with me was so short but I treasure all the memories of this very sweet cat. Rest well, my Annie. I know you and Yeti are together now.
